Shaoyu Wang is Professor and Doctorial Tutor of Integrated Disaster Risk Management, Harbin Institute of Technology, and also is Senior Advisor of The Forum of Disaster and Social Management of the Central Committee of China Democracy League. His research areas are Management of Urban Public Security and Integrated Disaster Risk; Disaster Assessment and Strategy of Prevention and Mitigation. Since recent years, he had taken charge and joined to finish tens of scientific projects, within which includes National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Foundation supporting, published eighteen books that content refers disaster risk management, public security management etc. and also appeared near hundred of scientific papers. He acted ever as Co-Chair of The IDRC 2006 Davos, Switzerland and Executive Chair of The IDRC 2007 Harbin, China
