Minister for Home Affairs, Kerala, India

Mr. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, currently Minister for Home Affairs, Kerala (India), is a senior politician in the state who has been active in public life for many decades.
He has held number of important portfolios in the Government, from water resources management, revenue (which also deal with land management) and disaster management. He was also the vice chairman of the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority.
In March 2012, the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority organized an International Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Contingency Planning and came up with the Trivandrum Declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction, a first for India.
With immense experience as a decision maker in both sectoral ministries and ministry in charge of disaster management, Mr Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will bring in the perspectives of a decision maker faced with complex choices in a developing country to the International Disaster Risk Conference.
