You have the opportunity to organize a special session on a topic of your own. Your special session proposal has to deal with one of the conference topics or with one of the following topics:

• Public-private partnerships for resilient societies
• Multicountry risk management and disaster relief
• Mulicultural risk management
• Young scholars and professionals forum
• Water resources management
• Education programs for risk management: Training for tomorrow’s professionals
• Lessons learned from recent mega crises and catastrophes (financial crises, H1N1, etc).
  

The special sessions will run either as parallel sessions or in exceptional cases as plenary sessions.

You are kindly invited to submit an abstract (max. 300 words) describing the goal, the content and expected outcomes of your special session. Additionally, the speakers’ names, affiliation and their abstracts have to be submitted: Submit a special session here. Until the deadline you can change or withdraw your submissions via the above link.

The program committee will decide on the acceptance of your session and inform you from 22 February onwards. A detailed session plan has to be uploaded after our acceptance of your abstract.

Special sessions will be selected according to the following criteria:

• Relevance for conference topics
• Scientific quality and originality of the subject
• The session generates new ideas or concepts
