President, Technisches Hilfswerk THW, Bonn, Germany

Since 2006, Alrecht Broemme is President of Technisches Hilfswerk THW, Bonn, Germany. The THW provides technical and logistical support in Civil Defense and Disaster Management. Within Germany, THW supports cities, states, the federal government and disaster relief organizations on demand. In foreign countries, the THW does humanitarian support on behalf of the German Government. Furthermore, he is President of European Fire Academy (EΦA), Brussels since 1993. He holds the Vice Chair of INSARAG (UN - International Search and Rescue Advisory Board), Regional Group Africa-Europe-Middle East between 2011 and 2012. Since 2003, he is a Board Member of Association for the Administration of German Cities (Deutscher Städtetag), Committee for Disaster Prevention, Fire Service and Ambulance Service. Albrecht Broemme gained much experience during nearly 30 years in different positions within the Berlin Fire Department, where he finally was the head of.
